However, this is pretty advanced and you should know what you’re doing. If you’re good with Linux and have done it before, go ahead and connect your Raspberry Pi to you network using whatever methods you’re familiar with.<\/p>\n

Once done, you need one more change to the AstroBox settings to let the softwareastroprint.zendesk.com\/\u2026\/207866186-Can-I-configure-the-Raspberry-Pi-network-myself-<\/a> know that you have manually connected the box to the internet. You can do this by adding the following lines to\u00a0\/etc\/astrobox\/config.yaml<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>(Note the indentation, exactly 2 spaces before\u00a0manager<\/em>):<\/em><\/p>\n

then restart your astrobox and that should be it!<\/p>\n
$ sudo service astrobox restart<\/pre>\n

For those wanting to config your own wifi connection, login to your pi using ssh or keyboard and monitor. Edit the network interfaces files by typing:<\/p>\n
$\u00a0sudo nano \/etc\/network\/interfaces<\/pre>\n
Edit the file by adding: (Leave the “” around the ssid and password)<\/p>\n
allow<\/span>-<\/span>hotplug wlan0<\/span>\r\nauto<\/span> wlan0<\/span>\r\n\u00a0<\/span>\r\niface wlan0 inet dhcp<\/span>\r\n        wpa<\/span>-<\/span>ssid <\/span>\"YOUR-WIFI-NAME\"<\/span>\r\n        wpa<\/span>-<\/span>psk <\/span>\"PASSWORD-TO-WIFI\"<\/span><\/pre>\n
Save the file<\/p>\n

  • Hit\u00a0Ctrl + X<\/strong>\u00a0(to exit)<\/li>\n
  • It will ask if you want to save Hit\u00a0Y<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Then hit\u00a0ENTER<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Reboot the pi<\/p>\n
